THE EARTH LAUGHS IN FLOWERS

Spring Bulbs + Perennials

The first signs of spring are the perfect time to bring your landscape back to life and nothing makes a bigger impact than professionally planted bulbs and perennials.

Early spring planting sets the foundation for a season (and years) of color, texture, and curb appeal.

We install vibrant combinations of:

  • Early-blooming bulbs that deliver instant color after winter

  • Hardy perennials that establish strong roots in cool spring soil

  • Layered plantings designed for continuous blooms from spring through fall

Planting early gives your landscape a head start:
- Stronger root development
- Healthier, more resilient plants
- Fuller growth by summer
- Long-term return year after year

Unlike annuals that need replacing each season, bulbs and perennials multiply, mature, and create bigger, more beautiful displays over time.

Plant early. Bloom longer. Enjoy for years.

Shasta daisies are one of those flowers that just feel like spring!

With their crisp white petals and sunny yellow centres, they bring a clean, classic look to any garden bed. Shasta daisies bloom generously from early summer into late season, creating bright drifts of colour that pair beautifully with ornamental grasses, lavender, or deeper-toned perennials.
They’re also wonderfully easy to love. Shastas are hardy, low-maintenance, and thrive in full sun with well-drained soil. Once established, they’re drought-tolerant and reliable year after year often blooming even more abundantly as they mature. A quick deadhead keeps them looking fresh, and dividing them every few years helps maintain their vigour.
Whether planted in soft cottage-style borders or used in more structured garden designs, Shasta daisies add a cheerful, timeless charm that never feels overdone, just effortlessly bright and happy.

Over seeding

Chris’s Corner

As March arrives and the days slowly grow longer, there’s a familiar feeling that comes with early spring. The light lingers a little later in the evening, the air softens just a bit, and suddenly stepping outside without a heavy coat feels possible again. It’s almost as if the yard is stretching awake along with us.

After winter, lawns are usually a little sleepy - flattened in places, slightly patchy, and just needing a bit of care to bring them back to life. Early spring is the perfect time to gently help them recover. Clearing away thatch and winter debris, aerating the lawns, loosening the soil so it can breathe, and overseeding thin areas can make a big difference. Many homeowners also like to add a fresh layer of top dressing lawn soil and apply the first gentle feed of the season. With just a little attention now, it’s amazing how quickly the lawn will recover and the green deepens.

March is also an ideal time for a garden cleanup. Removing fallen leaves, trimming back old perennial growth, cutting ornamental grasses, and refreshing the edges of garden beds helps create space for the fresh growth that will soon follow. Topping up mulch in planting areas can also help keep soil moisture in place and discourage early weeds as the season gets underway.

Spring is when outdoor spaces start to feel fun again too. There’s something comforting about fresh planters by the front door, soft greens, cheerful blooms, and textures spilling gently over the edges. Even a simple arrangement can make coming home feel a little more special, adding a welcoming pop of colour that brightens the entire space.

And tucked quietly into garden beds this time of year go summer bulbs - dahlias, lilies, begonias, and gladiolus, all planted with a bit of hopeful anticipation. They don’t look like much at first, but come early summer they reward you with a beautiful display of colour and texture. It’s one of those small seasonal rituals that makes gardening feel just a little magical.

Spring isn’t about dramatic transformations. It’s about small, thoughtful resets - helping your lawn get a healthy start, tidying the garden, adding a bit of colour, and planting something today that will bloom later. Before long, everything begins to feel alive again, and the garden settles into the rhythm of a new growing season.
